Phenolic smell inside my plastic 60litre FV

Advice please anyone?
Recently i've been suffering with beer turning phenolic in the fermenter, that much i've seen another 25 litres go down the drain again today. I've filtered my water and added a campden tablet to HLT when brewing, but on emptying the fermenter I have come to realise that maybe the problem of my phenolic beer is down to the fermenter itself. I've left it soaking in sodium metabisulphate with the lid on and keep going back to it but the odour of my TCP ale is lingering in there. Is there any helpful advice that may help me with this problem? Has anybody else had the same problem? I've been reading about the use of soda crystals, maybe this is a good idea? I've never used them myself, so I don't know. :?

I hope so!! [-o< I rinse out 4 or 5 times through a hose straight from the cold water tap, then a spray of sodium metabisulphate, before leaving upside down to dry.

Could be worth a go with the soda crystals. Take the tap off and clean thoroughly then let the fermenter stand with the crystal solution. A good rinse, then a 2% solution of the cheapest bleach over night. Rinse 4 or 5 times......use sodium met. to rinse if you wish, then away you go, fill with wort and relax!

I'll try that trucker, thanks. I'll have quick scout round my local Morrisons in a bit for soda crystals, hopefully they will have them there??

Be sure to use the cheap bleach. NOT the thick scented stuff. That's all I ever use for sanitising. It's about 25p for 2 litres!

Well all seems well i've soaked in cheap supermarket bleach 28p for 2 litres  thanks trucker for advice, i was wondering just how many people use thin bleach for cleaning? It seems to do the job, I know i'll be stocking up from now on i've spent some money on more expensive cleaners/ sterilisers which do less of a job and leave a lot of scent behind.
