Muntons Connoisseur's Wheat Beer with Raspberry

Post by aceface57 » Fri Jul 30, 2010 7:48 pm

So I've made this up a 2 weeks ago. It got left in the FV longer than usual as I went off on holiday. I added a bottle of Raspberry syrup to this kit as well, didn't think much flavour would be left over after fermentation, but I thought what the hell.
Well I bottled it all today and had a cheeky taste and you can certainly taste the Raspberry. It's not too strong to too weak either. For 8 of the bottles I ran out of sugar  so I thought more experimentation, and added a shot of cherry syrup to the bottles. Hope these work out!
Have put them away now, with 8 bottle (1/2pint) going into my maturing cupboard (I leave these bottles for special occasion, don't really get touched for 6months or longer) and the rest went under the stairs to be enjoyed in 4 weeks time.
Will update this thread to let you know how it goes.

Just had a wee tester bottle that was primed with cherry syrup. It's lovely and fruity, I think my mum and gf will love it. Great colour too, It's crystal clear in the bottled, but didn't pour well.

Hmm, raspberries might be fantastic addition to gentle wheat beers, and it sounds tasty already!
How much syrup you added to batch?
