Popped into my local HB store yesterday(on company time of course :whistle: )to pick up some LME,hops and yeast and enquired if he had anything new.He showed me the Admirals Reserve... so i purchased one.
Made up the kit earlier today but before you pitch the yeast it tells you to stir in a sachet of Goldings hop powder?Has anyone else come across hop powder.When i opened the sachet it contained a white powder :shock: but a real strong hop aroma.
Brew is bubbling away nicely(as usual i changed the yeast for Safale-04).
Now its time for some dinner :beer:

I'd imagine the tinned extract is from another Muntons/Woodfordes kit and the hop addative makes the difference/

Admirals Reserve has been fermenting now for 10 days and the gravity reading is 1.015 at 19c.And this is using Safale-04(not sure if these kits contain more unfermentables than they should...i have tried different dried yeasts in my beers but these kits still seem to finish a little short!
Sometimes get to 1.010 if its an extract recipe that i do,but still think thats a little high for a starting gravity of 1.040
Not going to bother asking if i should pitch more yeast or stir the yeast back into suspension ](*,) i will let it sit for another week and then wait for a keg to become vacant :beer:
Tasted a little sharp from the sample taken(but that was after drinking a sample of my TC with honey and muscavado sugar :dry:
