shop bought

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

shop bought

Anyone use cheap, shop bought water to brew with? I made my last batch with something or other from asda that was on special, 8l for £1. Its an imperial IPA so results aren't going to be quick. At that price I would do it again for good results. Just wondering about other peoples experiences and ideas about which shop bought, if any, to use?

Cheers

8l for £1 is expensive for ASDA - their Smartprice water is usually only about 13p for 2l... (the Smartprice stuff is very good for brewing light colour bitters and lagers as it has fairly low alkalinity, just add a bit of calcium as CaCl2 or gypsum as appropriate).
