I made a last minute decision not to add the star anise, I kept getting that little star out, smelling it and thinking . . .do I really want that spice in the brew? Aniseed? Will it be too much? Will it make or break it? Hmmm maybe for anoher day I think.
I was going to do festive fist fight again, but I didn't have the cystal malt I needed and didint have the hops, plus my missus doesn't like dark ales so I thought sod it all make up something new, I'm hoping it will turn out good!

Brew day is going nce and smooth, just he usual cock ups, wet floor from open tap, and in the excitment of my pump working first time round, forgot to put the second batch sparge water on the the heat so had to wait around, and I've just remembered I've got to put a tea spoon of gypsum nthe boil. . Best do that now
