Glasgow Meeting - Sun 7th November

Post by Calum » Wed Oct 06, 2010 8:37 pm

The Scottish Craft Brewers are holding an event downstairs at Blackfriars, 36 Bell Street, Glasgow on Sunday 7th November.

We have invited along Ian Brocklebank who is a CAMRA beer judge to talk about what is involved in judging CAMRA competitions. Ian will also talk about identifying faults in beer. We are looking for people to bring along samples of their beer (good and bad) so that Ian, and other experienced brewers who will be on hand, can help identify faults in beer and hopefully explain the reasons why this happened.

There will be the usual opportunity to swap beers and generally get in contact with other brewers in the area and hear about other events that are planned.

Once the talk and chat is over we will retire upstairs to sample some of the commercial stuff.

We are looking to start at 11am. 8)

Is this only open to Scottish craft brewers members or can anyone come along? Im new to brewing, got a couple of batches under my belt and another conditioning just now, and would be interested in hearing peoples opinions on it.

Got a Brown Ale and a Pumpkin Ale to bring along. I will have to bottle from the keg.

Any bottles left of the one we made , Calum ? How did it turn out ?

Missed your last midweek meeting, remembered about 9pm the same evening  Can't remember if I told you , I live in the centre of Edinburgh now.

Nah, the last one went a couple of weeks ago. It was actually very nice and clean with just enough aroma to keep things interesting. It also got a Highly Commended award at Skipton. 8)

You did tell me you were in Edinburgh now - I'll remind at Glasgow and also a couple of days before the next meeting.

Should have said I'll be coming to this. I think my stout may even be carbonated enough to bring it along, which is pretty weird seeing as I only bottled it on Monday.

Great day, I really enjoyed it. Owen's IPA was better than anything we had upstairs!
