Weatherspoons-Castagnale & Banks's UCB (Ultimate Curry Beer)

Had a smashing pint of Banks's UCB (Ultimate Curry Beer) tonight at Weatherspoons, reminded me of Punk IPA, i wonder if its the Simco flavour coming through?

Also had a pint of Castagnale, also very nice..a good session beer i recon, nice smooth pallet( i wonder if that is terified wheat or just wheat malt coming through ... pdtnc- have you tried this beer?) Has a nice balance of malt flavour too.

Any sugestions on recipes?

Looking forward to trying all the other beers coming on stream!

Shame there has been no response on this thread, my local has just got a barrel of the Banks's UCB on and I'm now a fan!
I'll probably capture some yeast from the barrel and make my own recipe. Remembering it is 5.3% and I rekon its mid 30's IBU and about 50 EBCs. Banks's use Fuggles for bittering and Goldings for Aroma, so that's where I'm going to start.

Anyone else have any thoughts........

Its defo got some american or NZ hop thing going on too...but Im not experienced enuf to identify them..!

Hi,

I tried a pint (or 2) of Banks' UCB last night.. I thought it was goldings/styrians...
I'm about to google it and see what hops are in there...
