I'm trying to recreate theakstons grouse beater.
this is a bitter but with a realy pleasant blackcurrant taste/aroma.
on there website they list the hops as fuggles and goldings but states they dry hop with fuggle.
i was going to knock up a bitter with fuggle and golding, but either steep or dry hop with a hop of blackcurrent taste e:g galena
any thoughts/ideas greatly appreciated
thanks guys

Re: grouse beater
Hey norvernmunkee!
Never heard of grouse beater, but love Theakstons XB which has a late addition of Bramling cross, which has a blackcurrant taste/aroma. I've used it in my Blackberry stout and in Ruddles best bitter. Bramling cross is a golding variety so should be good for dry hopping, although I've only used it for bittering or as a flavour/aroma hop.

Re: grouse beater
I'm pretty sure when I was chatting to people from Theakstons at the GBBF they said grouse beater had blue berry in.

Re: grouse beater
I'm pretty sure it has blueberry too - I tried it at the brewery back in April, and my first guess was Bramling Cross, but I think that's much more blackcurranty though.
