True but you UK guys have the exchange rate to your advantage. In the US you can get a high-temp March pump 809 with plastic pump head for $130 from ebay, which is 80 pounds for you. Shipping of course complicates things. But if the exchange rate was reversed I'd definitely be visiting London again since it's so much fun and the beer is the best!

Setup - ~200mm of 10mm copper tube with short piece of silicone tube to the inlet of pump, ~900m silicone (i.d. ~8mm) and ~300mm of 10mm copper return tubes to mash tun. "Plug top" power adaptor - 1Amp switched output, regulated type. Cold water. Zero head.

Pump voltage vs flow rate -
12 volts 3.2 litres per minute
9V 2.6 lpm
7.5V 2.2 lpm
6V 1.8 lpm
4.5V 1.3 lpm

I did not check the voltage or current. I suspect that the flow might be significantly higher through wider/shorter tube.
The pump stalls at 3.0 volts, so operation at 4.5 volts might be unreliable.
On my peeko system I control the flow rate by thottling the output from the Speck-8000, not by voltage control, so I am reasonably sure that you could leave this pump running at 12V and throttle it's output - maybe by squeezing the tube with a clamp?
Cheers fella, great effort there for the forum!

Now I've just got to figure out what the f*** all these different wattages mean! Who'd think buying a pump could be so bloody complicated! #-o

Only the 6 (6.6W) version is listed on the website, which is what I bought, it's a bit weedy imo :(

Are you saying that if you call they can provide a 12w more powerful pump?
Sorry for the late reply mate....

Saying I spoke to Peter, I emailed him to return the 14/10 in exchange for the 20/20 model and was given the power options when he replied. I went for the 12V and when using it on full power, it is only a fraction slower at transferring than my Totton GP 20/12.

Awesome to know! Mine should arrive next week!

FYI: Peter is taking some extended holiday as of the 8th of Nov so anyone thinking of getting one should get their order in ASAP! :D

YOu can restrict output with a valve.

I have gone for the ones from Germany you find on Ebay Here

I ordered and paid for it on Saturday and they replied to tell me it would be posted on Monday and it arrived today (Wednesday) I have been allowed to open it to check it over and it looks pretty cool TBH, but SWMBO has now wrapped it so I can't be tempted to use it before Xmas.

Fittings for this are 1/2 BSP x2 (Same as the Solar Pump) and 3/4 BSP x2 (Same as standard hoselock thread) so it makes this the perfect exchanger IMO

They are back on sale :-)

Is is best to go for the screw on connection?

I guess you still need to ask for the 12watt version.

Where are people getting the tubing for them
