QUOTE (Steeev @ Apr 24 2006, 07:42 PM) Anyone given cranberry juice or Pomegreat a go?
Steeev,
I have made and still have a batch of turbo guava :stun .
Made from 100% green guava juice :stun .
Made it the same way as a turbo cider.
It must be 4-5 months old now, can only sip it, dare not give it to friends :stun .
It has a rather strange effect on one
, and not just getting smashed
.
Ooooeeerrr.

Hi all
Two weeks ago I bottled 5 gallon of turbo cider, I used 23l of Aldi apple juice with two 454g jars of squeezy honey and just used beer yeast the OG:1050, Its got a bit of a kick. I tryed it with orange juice but it turned out naff. Cranberry sounds nice might have a go at that.

QUOTE (quaffter @ Apr 26 2006, 07:52 PM) Purchased today some cranberry juice and a further supply of apple "jungle" juice for my next turbo cider batch.
Will make 3 L of cranberry and 3 L of cranberry and apple 50/50 as deadlydes suggested .
A little experiment :stun and more bottles to wash
Q
Cranberry is naturally dry... you may have to suck a few lemons as training for drinking your final cranberry brew. Also I might worry a little about the sugar content of commercial cranberry offerings as they are sweetened to prevent customers adopting the bulldog chewing a wasp look.

lol! Yeah. Cranberries have the same effect as a tub of Alum did in the old Roadrunner cartoons.
Well, after just 5 days the cider stopped bubbling, so I syphoned it from my PET bottle into 1L bottles.
Sadly, due to my lack of pumpless syphoning ability (tube not placed properly in the PET bottle, got bubbles etc.), I splashed the first 2 litres a bit (coincidentally the clearest).
I've made the executive decision to drink them before they go off. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.
After 5 days, it's already nicer than most scrumpies I've tasted, and surprisingly not yeasty to taste!
The two well-syphoned bottles may not last the weekend.
O.G. 1058, FG 998... I make that about 7.5%
deadlydes... I am in your debt sir!

Went supermarketing again today
.
Found a new juice pack to try, have not seen before.
100% pomegranate and grape juice.
no preservatives, colouring or sugar added.
40% pomegranate juice, 30% red grape juice and 30% white grape juice.
All from concentrates.
Will try 3L as a wine first and may try a Turbo batch next week if it looks suitable :stun .
Life gets soooo much better.
They also had an apple and grape juice combined, not so sure about this one
.
Anyone had a try at this one?
