Recipe as here
The grain as poured Image grain rearranged slightly :) Image
mash, new ball valve Image to avoid Image mash out Image

I forgot to take photos of the hops and boil, nothing exciting although the hops (from themaltmiller) were very sticky and aromatic.

Not sure how much I got as it went in the bucket with no markings but I'd say 23-25l going from the level in the boiler, so pretty much on target.

oooh nice - and looks less disastrous in the documenting than in the event. So - that hole in the bucket with water coming out was fixed or previous brew?

Hope it's as good but maybe less peanutty than my california steam with recultured Robinson's yeast? Good beer - 'basic drinker' have the Michael Jackson Beer Hunter prog with his visit to Anchor Steam if you want to borrow it?

The water pouring out was on the previous brewday when I discovered exactly how easy it was to knock the tap the came with the boiler off and pour 80*C water all over the place. I had to grind the hole a little bigger but that ball valve isn't going anywhere without some effort. The Burco needs a new tap now though.

No sign of peanut in the taste, quite quaffable. I think it is not a million miles away from anchor steam. I should probably do a side by side comparrison to see how close I am
