That should work out really well for you if you like the uber hoppy American IPA's. How come you guys always want to put wheat in everything? I can pretty much assure you that you will have no problems with head retention in that beer. My experience has always been that when you have that much in the way of hops, it tends to really make for a nice, long lasting head. Also of course, American beers tend to be more carbonated than what you might be used to and you really want to carbonate well so as to drive all those hop aromas right into your nose all the way to the bottom of the glass. Enjoy.
Drinking:Saison (in bottles), Belgian Dubbel (in bottles), Oud Bruin (in bottles), Olde Ale (in bottles),
Abbey Triple (in bottles), Munich Helles, Best Bitter (TT Landlord clone), English IPA
Conditioning: Traditional bock bier, CAP
Fermenting: Munich Dunkel
Next up: Bitter (London Pride like), ESB
So many beers to make, so little time (and cold storage space)

I'm getting into full IPA mode now. Got sh!tloads of hops in the freezer, and some 2010 Nelson Sauvin on the way too.

Cannot wait to make this. Should be a great one. Full IPA mode sounds like a good idea to me.

Yeah I am going to carbonate this quite well, not overly because its bottle conditioned. Something like 2.3 volumes.

LOL I can't speak for these lads but being a Yorkshireman, it just seems wrong not to have it in the mix! :D

The wheat is just for some extra extra head retention. :D

just read your recipe

I thought i went overboard on hops, but that takes the buscuit :!: :!:

Looks blummin great, let us know how it turns out.

One point to note though.....with over 300g in the boiler and 200g in the FV/Secondary, I would start with a much higher boil volume to compensate for the high losses.

Yeah. Thats not my actual schedule.

Adm worked out that you loose about 15ml from every gram of whole hops, a while ago. That is pretty much what I use.

So I am going to have losses from hops of around 7.5L and say 3L boil off. I will start with about 33ish Litres, in the boiler.
