JBK member meeting.......bring a sample! 28/01/2011

Post by jubby » Wed Jan 05, 2011 10:03 pm

Another meeting for JBK members.........or non members, in fact anyone that makes beer, or wants to learn to make beer, or drinks beer................anyone really!

Cambridge on Friday 28th 8pm in the Cambridge Blue; http://www.the-cambridgeblue.co.uk/ PM going out to the regulars, but all are more than welcome.

Special guest appearance from Steve & Francis (tequila6) and maybe even Damian (audley), formerly Cambridge members, now dithering about in Europe somewhere :D :D

I will be taking a small sample of my Mr Nick's imperial IPA, brewed to 250 IBU at 7% with 1/2 kilo Styrian Goldings in 25 litres aged for 11 months. This will be tasted towards the end of the evening, as it will destroy your taste buds :!: :!:

If you can make it, let us know what you're bringing to sample. If you haven't got anything to sample.............get em in :!:

WooHoo,

Sorry for the tardy response, but Internet in France is a bitch.

Now in March and internet access is again available and I am ready to meet at the Cambridge Blue as requested.

It will be great to see everyone again even though I don't have any home brew myself. However I have managed to put by a Portuguese "Superbock Stout" for you guy to try. It was the nearest thing to decent beer I found out there.

Supping Oakham Inferno in four pint take outs from the local pub until then.

See you all soon

I should be able to make it. As for a sample I had all the kids back for christmas and my stock took a hammering. I had been saving a Golden Ale and if the kids didn't get it first I'll bring it!

Your Mr Nick's should be something special Jubby, I'll bring one of the two bottles I've got left- a bitter I brewed with Southwold yeast for a mate's crimbo pressie.

Hopefully I'll see you all there!

Indeed it was a great beer. Thanks for the recipe Shane.

What does the Carafa III do ? is there any reason to add that and black malt?
