I used to love the version that was on sale when I was in school - about 1993-4. Was that the modern version? I presume so as I doubt Graeme's linked recipe would be as dark as I remember the beer being.

If that's the case, anyone got the modern recipe? That is a beer I would love to recreate.

I was drinking it in the late eighties and have many happy memories! The version I drank was also dark so I'd be interested in the modern day version if anybody has it. Many thanks either way Graeme!

That version is much older (1890s), but might or might not be similar to the 1980s version - hard to know though.
