Great thread.

I've used them previously as a secondary for dry hopping etc with no issues. But i'm brewing a big batch of beer for the Royal Wedding street party we have. Going to do a London Pride clone then fill a poly pin to take along. Will prime 5-6days before and store in the garage to cool.

Will take a few photos and details of what i did as an example for any people looking to do the same. Wish me luck!

I made a mild on 27th February which stayed in the FV until I racked it on 13th March. Unfortunataly, due to unforseen circumstances, I couldn't get it into a polypin until 20th March. It's been wrapped up in the kitchen since and despite priming it as per Dennis' suggestion on page 7, it's refusing to produce C02. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do?

I guess it's maybe because I left it for too long after racking it and too much yeast has dropped out. How about if I added some more yeast?

If transporting full polypins, is it better to move them to their final position before priming them, time permitting? I feel that if I took a carbonated polypin across the city I might risk having a bag full of froth at the other end.

I only move them from the kitchen to the garage so its never a problem, you could maybe prime, vent some of the gas then move.

Thats a tactic i've regularly deployed with great success.......:-D sorry couldn't resist!

Going to prime my 19litres tonight with 60grams of Caster sugar and move indoors from the garage to warm for 2 days, will then put back out to cool on Thursday night to chill a bit ahead of its showing at my Royal Wedding street party.

Will share back how it goes.

I dropped a 20L polypin full of uncarbonated wort last night and it fortunately didn't burst. These things are tougher than they look, happy to say.

just a thought, could you fit a beer tap float to the back of the tap? like on king kegs then you could leave the poly tap up           thats not going to work is it   ,

but if you could put a magnet next to the ball valve to lift it out above the beer provided you made it magnetic to vent the Poly:) is that a recovery from a silly question?

I used the above technique for my Royal Wedding Street Party beer, it worked perfectly!

It was just a simple London Pride clone, 19l primed with 100g of caster sugar 3 days before, moved to the location in a box on the day. Poured perfectly head stayed, slightly less fizzy than say beer festival gravity poured beer.

I can't claim Royal approval for my homebrew, but the Mayor and Town Crier of Poole were big fans! I kept having to explain i was a homebrewer and didn't own my own micro brewery!
