IPA(ddict)

Post by kck74 » Mon May 16, 2011 4:09 pm

HI Chaps,

Got this on yesterday.......

5.5kg MO
500g crystal

50g Northern Brewer (i think! found in cupboard not labelled) at 90 mins
100g of Cascade at 10 mins
100g of Cascade at flame out
dry hopping with 100g of Motueka.

Any thoughts? I've loved the Cascade in a few other brews, so thought i'd go balls deep in this one. :D

Is it a good call on the Motueka?

Cheers in advance

Kev

Clunge those hops M8, Balls deep more like Armpits

Id go with less FO hops and use as Dry hop, you can then if you feel the need fish them out for your next brew . Dry hoppppppppping I think is the way to go for that soporific joy!

It was a bit "crowded" at the end in the boiler Gary!

I'll wait for a day or 2 until the Krausen has subsided then bung in the Motueka.

I must get one of those strainer thingys for it tho.......

Lol! I have the worst pallet in history, everything I eat or drink has to be really strongly flavoured for me to taste it. Loads of Garlic, chilli, really strong coffee or HIGHLY hopped beer.

Don't think i'd ever make it as a beer judge!

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that one way or another." that's some serious hoppage dude!

Seems like quite a lot of crystal for an IPA but, I trusted its nearly finished in the FV, so I'm sure you'll enjoy the result!
