Adding elderflowers to Peters Well Ruby Red

I have a Peter's Well Ruby Red that I am going to start in the next week and I am interested in adding a light elderflower taste to the brew, and given that the elderflowers are all flowering now it seems the ideal time to do it. My question is how?

I have some muslin bags and was thinking I could put the flowers in that and either just chuck it in the fermenting bucket or alternatively boil it up first and then add the boiled elderflower water and bag of flowers in. Either of these a goer? How much elderflower should I use?
