So I might be able to get Sodium Metabisulfite (Industrial Grade) from somewhere. I've googled it, and as far as I can tell, it's the industrial grade that used to be used years ago, but because it smells a bit with water, and is a bit dangerous, food grade then became the alternative.
So am I OK to use the Industrial Grade stuff, anybody else using it?
Cheers all.
Industrial Sodium Metabisulfite
Re: Industrial Sodium Metabisulfite
I'd be very careful. There is a reason it is not food grade. We had some Industrial grade HCl a few years ago which we had to turn away. It was not allowed to be called food-grade because it contained arsenic.
Re: Industrial Sodium Metabisulfite
And a bag of normal "brewing" sodium met is cheap and will last for ages, unless you have an unusual use for it.
