I find myself with an Amercian Ale yeast starter looking for a recipe
I brewed a Willamette /simcoe -all the simcoe in the last 15m, in a light coloured grist of pale a tad lager a tad wheat and some caragold and had intended using the yeast but I'd been in a hurry to get the starter going and boiled caramunich to make the base for the starter, so tI now have a 2 litre very dark brown toffee/fudge smelling starter which didn't seem fair to adding to a beautiful pale beer. So I thought I'll save it and brew something browner first.
Im not a brewer of brown beer and I thought I detune Evil Twin a bit. The Evil Twin recipe is

I thought I'd bring the OG down to 1050, replace the darker malts with 100g caramunich and 250g caragold - I've just used 250g caramunich in a lager and on bottling it tastes like a mild! I thought of replacing the Columbus with a mix of summit and green bullet, the centenial with cascade and citra for the aramillo - which fits whjhjat I've got in the freezer.
