Punked IPA

A friend and I have just brewed this although I sent him all my Nelson Sauvin so I had to use Centennial instead!!
Its in the FV now looking very pale and murky. I shall be bottling it this weekend and taking it down for him to try.
All in the name of science you understand :shock:

Punked IPA

Pale Malt Low Colour 3 EBC 6000 grams 92.3%
Wheat Malt 3.5 EBC 500 grams 7.7%


Nelson Sauvin Whole 11.3 % 90 mins 15 grams 7.5%
Chinook Whole 13.6 % 90 mins 15 grams 7.5%
Simcoe Whole 12.2 % 90 mins 15 grams 7.5%
Ahtanum Whole 4 % 90 mins 15 grams 7.5%
Nelson Sauvin Whole 11.3 % 15 mins 20 grams 10%
Chinook Whole 13.6 % 15 mins 20 grams 10%
Simcoe Whole 12.2 % 15 mins 20 grams 10%
Ahtanum Whole 4 % 15 mins 20 grams 10%
Nelson Sauvin Whole 11.3 % 0 mins 15 grams 7.5%
Chinook Whole 13.6 % 0 mins 15 grams 7.5%
Simcoe Whole 12.2 % 0 mins 15 grams 7.5%
Ahtanum Whole 4 % 0 mins 15 grams 7.5%

Final Volume: 25 Litres
Original Gravity: 1.059
Final Gravity: 1.014
Alcohol Content: 5.8% ABV
Total Liquor: 37 Litres
Mash Liquor: 16.3 Litres
Mash Efficiency: 75 %
Bitterness: 91.322284399556 EBU

Well what can I say. This beer lasted two weeks at most especially when, in the name of science, I took a crate of it to my mates and three of us polished it off in a weekend!
I cannot recommend this recipe ENOUGH! It was amazing. Lovely stuff. I am now addicited to anything with an EBU of 90+!!!
very drinkable although in my next version I am going to make it a little weaker as this kept wiping my legs out from under me!

Some whats your new recipe for a Lower ABV look like? Were there any dry hops in your brew? :)

WLP007, as it is my favourtie new yeast. Lovely flavour with this one.....just need a spare day to get it brewed!

Why the Pacific Gem? More Bitterness and lower ABV, you'll be liking your seriously bitter beers then ;) :D

No reason, just thought I would try it out! theres never any logic to my recipes!! :-)

After the first batch at 96EBU I want MORE BITTERNESS!!!!

Pacific gem are nice when dry hopped :)

I'd like to try a recipe like this one but i need to grow some balls first :lol:

I've just bought 80 award winning recipes by Jamil so i may have to look at the hop hammer.
