Mixing Yeast

Post by MrD » Sun Mar 18, 2007 1:15 pm

I had some yeast in the fridge a few months and I've introduced it into my new brew last night. I made it into a starter the normal way and it looked OK.

This morning no activity in the fermenter

Do I:-

1) Wait for another 12 hours?

2) Do I introduce a packed of dried yeast (Nottingham Brewing Yeast)

Not sure if I should mix the two different yeasts?

If the yeast starter was actively fermenting I would wait a few more hours to see if there is any activity.
But if nothing is happening 18 hours after pitching the original yeast I would get that Nottingham ale yeast in there quickly
