I bottled my I.P.A tonight and with a steep addition of 140g of Cascade and 50g of Bobek, I was expecting its usual good old hop hit. I've brewed this recipe twice before, but for some reason, the hop flavour in this batch doesn't seem as impressive.
Brew day was just under 4 weeks ago... could it be that the beer is just young? OG of 1052 and FG of 1008. Has anyone else experienced such a thing?
Cheers.

Hi Floyd
I've been struggling with hop flavour/aroma in my last few batches (all using US-05 which should give a big hop hit). My brews also seem a little oxidised, slightly carboardy and tart. No idea what the problem is, which is not a great situation. What yeast are you using?

I've just read one of your other threads about previous infection problems.
I'm worried about a low grade infection sneaking up. Had one previously and the early indications were a stripping of hop flavours and a really thin, unmalty characterless beer.

Hey Fallen... Jeeze, I hope this isn't another infection. I was very careful with sanitisation - swirling boiling water around the fermenter + Star San. I'm tempted to try another one but promised myself I'd wait a week ...
Used S05 too.
I'm praying it's just that the beer is still quite young.

80c steep then crashed cooled with an immersion chiller.
