AG#30 German Oddity

Post by crookedeyeboy » Mon Sep 26, 2011 9:29 am

I brewed this yesterday purely because I had the ingredients lying about and was curious about the yeast:

Munich Male 4.9Kg
Crystal Malt 290g

Pilgrim Hops 11.2% 20g 90 mins
Pilgrim Hops 11.2% 10g 15 mins
Pilgrim Hops 11.2% 20g 80C Steep
Coriander Seeds 37g 80C steep

Safale T58 Yeast

Smells great this morning now the fermentation is off, I love the way that crushed coriander seeds smell like 'Brut' or 'Old Spice'!!!

What should I expect do you think? Ive never done an all Munich. My friend says its a bit sweeter than normal pale malt....

It is a lot sweeter and massively malty. I wouldn't add any crystal but in that quantity it's not going to do a lot of harm i suppose.

Excellent I shall look forward to it. What do you think to the Coriander seed addition?

Yeah that's quite a lot of seeds. You should notice it.
