Domestos

Is it ok to use this thick bleach to sanitise a fermentor and equipment as long as its diluted enough and rinsed well?
It's just that I've just used the last of my Youngs cleaner and sanitizer on the new budget barrel that I was putting my Admirals Reserve into and I want to get on with my Fixby gold.. And the shops will be shut before i can get to them. :?:

I'm not sure I would, Domestos has other ingredients in it apart from chlorine bleach - fragrance, etc., not to mention something to make it cling to surfaces... which is the last thing you need.

Can't you borrow/beg a bit of cheapo thin bleach from someone until you get supplies?

Agreed buy the big 2L bottle of the thin stuff for 36p .Its usually tucked away on the bottom shelf out of eye sight, the supermarkets are slowly training us to believe that bleach should come out of the container like mollases and be reassuringly expensive (like that other sh*te stella/wife beater).

That and to make it reassuringly necessary to hose everything down with it until you're swimming in the stuff.

Christ, i used a couple of hundred mil in a fermenter of warm water, and the bleach smell almost drove me out of the loo.
