Take the step to BIAB Folks.

After 25 years of brewing the best kits available and the most expensive with good results but never that REAL taste of a good pint from a commercial brewer I tried a recipe for all grain BIAB.......................WELL, what can I say except WOwser :D
I purchased a 50 litre stock pot and followed a recipe for a malty stout and can only say it was 100 times better than any kit I have ever brewed and I have tried them all, I am on my 5th brew and the cost is about a 3rd of a good kit per brew,it is so simple to brew and after the first one when you are a little nervous it is as easy as a kit ......try it...you will not regret it

it really is quite easy after your first ever go, i get 25k of malt from my local micro brewery for £20 which lasts me for about 7 23 litre brews and the hops and other grains are quite cheap with so many doing it online, a brew works out at about £7 where i used to spend £20 + on a good kit, minimal equipment needed, I only wish they had discovered this method of all grain brewing 20 years ago.

If kits are so crap and " the dark side " so out of this world, I'll never understand why you lot feel this constant need to barge in here prostelatysing.

Why are you people so insecure that ye have to keep doorstepping others and asking if they wanna be in your gang?

Isn't there a 'Bag Boilers' section on here? If not; I'm sure Jim would open one for ye. Or, is it that there is ~ and ye lonely there?

I never said kits were crap :( I said I have had 25 years of acceptable beer from them but BIAB for me has moved the hobby to a new level, I am only saying it is so easy that anyone can do it and produce far better brews and brews tailored to your taste for far less cost of a kit.
Sorry if I have upset anyone for mentioning it.

p.s Been on any good Gay Pride Marchs lately

No. As I already said:

8) Gotta get up pretty damn early to catch This cookie.

But, seriously; I see that there is a Bag Boilers slot. Just like there's one for All Grain, Kits and Extract. I can't talk for other folk. But, I've personally never felt the need to go onto the AG board and start telling them how they're missing out.

I've done 'BITB'. Did it back in the late 70's / early 80's? Breath taking results. But; " I'm an inveteratly lazy b@stard." <-- I'm known for saying that. I like my beer quick. Cheap. Fast turn around. Least possible overall effort. And I like it Great.

Boosh! The best Kits, handled right, provide this. But, why an I spending my time trying to tell You this? You're Not f**king interested. You're only here to ~ for what ever reason ~ big up your own philosophy.

As said: Jim's given Your Way its own little church. Won't find me there.

Why are you here?

Got to agree with Ditch - this should be in BIAB. Or the bag boilers corner!!

I'm all for brewing anything that's worth drinking. We probably all started with kits and if you get good results and/or you are short of time its a great way to go.

Ditch has said many times you need to pick the right kits - I seem to remember he has had a few duffers in his time ( as have we all).

If his stout is any good I will be brewing it regularly. [-o<
