Hi all Its a while since i posted on here for a while, so here goes.

Wanted an early start for this one, but didnt happen!! No worries.

No pics of grains, head not screwed on straight this morning.

I knew mash tun was gonna be full, but was panicing for a while....

Sparge is gonna be good with this on, my sparge arm normally sits about 3 inch inside tun. will have to raise HLT.

Any way mashed in at about 10.30 at 68.5 degrees, which i wanted 68, so good enough for me,

Cheers... Og come out lower than what i wanted 1.092 .. only boiled for a hour, cos one of the elements decided to spring a leak. Will have a look at that tommorow.

Oh well it will have to do.

gonna steralise FV an run off now.

Ok all cleaned out and sided away... yeast pitched in at 25 C... assistant brewer gone back to sleep... ive got another beer :D

wort looks clear enough.. wouldnt have thought it was 400 EBC..

Thats that then... hope that yeast kicks in ok, have pitched double the normal amount, and have some S0-4 on standby.

Just typed OG into Beer Engine... 71.2 % efficiency, should still be 9.5%abv, if i can get it down to FG so not too bad overall for me!!!

Yup like you say waiting game.

I think you sound to have done better than me, at least it sounds like you had less messing about to do! :)

Went well ish, was very concerned about fitting it in mashtun, so mashed in with 2.25L/ kilo instead of the normal 2.5L.

but apart from that, a leaky element, and breaking that Dewsbury Festval glass, as seen on your post, with still a good third of your Stout in it ,clumsy bugger that I am, all went ok.
