Star San Deionised Water

Post by deanrpwaacs » Tue Jan 17, 2012 10:38 pm

Has anyone found cheap supplies of de-ionised water for star san use ?
So far i have found http://www.topup-water-products.com/index.html who are based in Rainham.
They will only sell by the pallet load unless you are near and can collect.
They gave me a number for R Berry & Co in Rochester who charge £8.99 for 25ltrs .
Not a bad price as this would last ages.
Any more places out there that people may know of ?
Regards Dean.

Try your local aquarium shop, car parts supplier etc. If not a lot of people use bottled water from the supermarket.

The water for StarSan doesn't need to be de-ionised, just low pH. I get more than enough distilled water from the dehumidifier in my kitchen for my needs. :)

There's a new aquarium shop opened in Tonbridge. They will sell me 5L of RO water for 75p when I next need it. It's in one of the little malls that lead through towards Sainsbury from the High Street. Can't remember which one though #-o. I think the first one you come to if you are coming down from the station.

Do you know anyone who keeps marine fish? Fortunately for me I do and he has a Reverse Osmosis rig running 24/7, most of which he tips down the drain!!!! (something to do with the membrane getting knackered if he turns it off and he's not on a meter). When required I give him a 25 L container and he fills it.
In or near Norwich? Interested in meeting up monthly to talk and drink beer? PM me for details.

Yes that's it, couldn't think of the name.
Seeing as you're local I hope to see you at the first Angelfest in April?
And if you're up for a bottle swap...?

I use tesco ashbeck reuses on kegs and syphons for ages before it turns cloudy.
Keep 500ml in a wilco spray bottle for the rest of my gear.
