Today my efficiency was perculier, boiled 90 min drained added water to the required13lt,it should have been 1078 at 65% efficiency,I got 1060.What I did then was to pour the last wort from the boiler which dont drain out and it made it upto about 16 lt,measured again and it was 1070 so all of the sugars must have been in the bottom which dont drain out. What must have happend,is when I poured the treacle in it must have gone straight to the bottom, even though I mixed a bit of water in with it first.Next time I think i'll give it a much longer stir also to make sure it dispurses right through.
End product 16lt @ 1070.

Cheers people,it brings a whole new dimension taking photos while brewing.Notice how I had to use my third arm
to take the photo of me pouring the grain into the tun.

[quote]do you find your spinny arm stays in the placcy tube? mine always wanted to slide into the mash so had to add a cable tie to stop it escaping
Well it has its days sometimes I have to put tape on it,sometimes I dont,it's temperimental just like my wife

Just racked to secondary and had a sneeky slurp and smell.Smelled slightly of chocolate and smelled of faint paredrops when swirled around in the glass.Taste wise it's great not so hoppy as it should have been as I had 16lt instead of 12lt,it's is about 33ibu now but works well.Overall looking good for that barn dance.
