What is your problem?

http://www.online-calculators.co.uk/vol ... volume.php

e.g. radius (HALF the diameter) 15cm, height 30cm = 21214.285714285696 cubic cm, divide by 1000 = 21 litres
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

I suspect you're after the insulated thermopots but your question made me actually check my '50 litre' Copper - not something I've ever done before.

It's 395mm internal diameter at the rim and 380mm tall. Quick maths says that this is 46.58 litres.

CHEEKY BASTARDS! It's a few years old now and might be representative of what they're currently selling but a useful exercise.

The catering-service-fr pots sold as 100L are actually 98L, according to the box it's packed in.

My 60l thermopot turns out to actually be 55.6l. That is a bit bloody cheeky! Not that I really need those extra 4.4 litres.

I meant to measure my thermo this morning but I forgot. Not that it would help because I can't remember whether it is supposed to be a 50l or 60l...

Like Blackadder says, my 100L french pots were also described as 98L on the pack. I just measured one and its 50cm diameter by 50cm high inside so I guess 98L makes sense, those are only 'nominal' measurements though as there's a radius at the base of the sides and in my case a slight oval-ness of the rim.

Cheers
Kev

(EDIT: sorry, I meant Blackaddler - much more inventive name!)

My 70L thermopot is approx 44.5x44.5, which is just over 69L, but the top is a bit oval so must be very close to 70L.

My 50L stock pot has a diameter of 40 and the height is approx 40 (can't measure at the moment as the beer is fermenting at the moment) so pretty close to 50L.
