:) :)
I just copy/pasted from the original NCB announcement http://www.northerncraftbrewers.co.uk/futureevents.html added a few details, so you can blame me for opening the comp up to a wider audience if you like.
Last years 'Meeting' was merely that, a meeting and brewery tour with a fair bit of beer drinking / swapping / tasting :) (we hope all those latter things still hold true this year) ;)

If you could make it up here, with or without a comp entry it would be great to meet you ahead of the Bristol comp :) :)

This sentence, in particular gave me that impression:
We invited the Midlands Craft Brewers, to make things a little different as last year it was just the NCB, so this will be a bit of an Inter region competition
I think there was a lack of clarity, perhaps, and it being open to all was not well communicated.

Less than 12 hours to go before the cut off point to enter your IPA.

Please email shane@bridestone.com today if you intend to enter, there will be no more accepted after midnight tonight.

I think I got the jist it was open (through twitter as well), but realised far too late to be able to brew anything for it. (Plus, postage is a killer again...)

Well I thought the few homebrewers that follow me might like to have a go too, I didn't envisage a mass inundation of further-afield brewers so didn't think it a problem. :) Its all just good fun and beer :)

I'd have entered if I'd realized early enough to brew for it, but until the middle of last week thought I wasn't eligible.

I can't really justify the time coming up.

I'm in. It's not a winner, but I want to read the comments and watch the judges faces.
Now I'll see if the wife will do the taxi thing.

Yeah my thoughts too...

I received my labels in the post the other day so decided to get the bottles out that set aside for the comp (Magners brown pint as per comp. spec.)

Now I happened to notice hop particles in two of the six and another had an uncompacted yeast sediment.
Glad I bottled six 'just incase'

Been sampling the beer (from 450ml swing tops) and its not a bad drinker so will see what the judges make of it!
:)

Good luck all!

Guy... do you still want some of that Nelson Pale ale..... It's not great. There are alternative swaps if you want.
