what size boiler??

Hello again brewers,can anyone tell me what size boiler i would need for 5gallon batches? anybody got one for sale ,or know best place to purchase.was going to go for 32 litre pan ,but need to brew out of the kiddies way really so bo iler in the garage it is,thanks if anyone can help.

Buffalo 40l seems to be popular. Nisbetts sell them at a (seemingly) reasonable price, but also occasionally have them on eBay, or so I have heard.

Search eBay for nisbets clearance, every now and again they have the excellent buffalo 40l water boiler, usually they accept bids around the £60-70 mark.

If you are only starting up and unwilling to commit to a larger, more expensive boiler at this stage, the common/ el cheapo 19L stockpot is fine for MaxiBIAB. That method does 23- 25L batches of 1.050 with ease, with just the pot, BIAB bag and a bucket, so you can equip your all- grain brewery for as little as A$50. If you decide to scale up then the 19L pot always comes in handy for decoction, water prep, dunk sparge etc, I'd be stumped without mine.

i am willing to buy a boiler but have a 70-80 budget for one ,Is it easier to do maxibiab? i have plenty of large fv vessels etc.

Here in Australia they're in stocked in a few of the big chain stores, usually for just $20 and have sent many novice brewers on a rewarding all- grain trip very cheaply. There would be an equivalent there, i.e. cheap, thin 4 gallon stainless stockpot/ pan? 19L is just the size that's common here, but I'd say what ever you can get your hands on from 19L and upwards should suffice.
MaxiBIAB is a small amount of additional work in the sparge step, however otherwise it is exactly the same as stock full- volume BIAB.

many thanks ,but here in the uk large stock pot rare ,for example one lady wants 50 pounds for a 10l pot?? no thanks

Keggle = keg/kettle....basically a beer keg modified (top removed) as a boiler

so then i would have to buy an angle grinder a burner to cook with find somewhere to buy a stainless keg,cut the top off plumb in fittings,tell me how this is easier than searching for a boiler?
