Hosepipe ban

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

You cant get any more sanitary than a boiler (i cover it with a sterile lid too).

Hell why not just pitch the yeast into the boiler as well? (i've actually heard Jamil talk about a friend who does this and makes great pale ales boiling, fermenting and bottling from his boiler)

I gave up using my IC a while back because the wife was pregnant and brewing time was at a premium, I would pour off hot into a sterile FV, stick the lid on thight and leave in the garage overnight. I definately did notice that my beers were conistently more hazy with this method.

To get rid of this haze I've since made the effort to move back to using the IC, and thats with a baby around now when brewing time is even more scarce!

If the mystical hose pipe inspector turns up at my house i'm just going to tell him that i'm using my IC as a cost effcient method of heating water for a bath by collecting the water in a bucket at the other end. I figure when tell him i'm a homebrewer such ludicrous cost saving endevours will make sense and he'll wander on his merry way.
I am not a Beer expert.....thats exactly the point.
