Morning All,
I'm planning a kegerator for the summer (if it ever comes) when my cellar gets up to about 19c. Obviously great for brewing, not for storing and serving beer. I'm looking at taps and spotted these on German ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORNELIUS-KOL ... 1e6d41a611
or even
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KOLBENSCHANKH ... 1e6d13a986
The obvious problem I'm seeing is the metric to imperial conundrum. Is there an adaptor that can go from (I assume) 7mm to old money?
Otherwise I will have to pass on the gold blingy tap and pay more over here.
Kegerator taps
Re: Kegerator taps
The same chap sells extenders, and the page for those has a little table saying that his 5/8" tap shanks are 14 TPI, so they are BSP thread but not necessarily BSP size. You can tell by looking it's not the US 1-1/8"-18 size.
Worth contacting the seller (I expect he speaks English) and asking if the shank is BSP or G thread (G is BSP parallel)? My Dalex plastic taps have a 1/2" BSP thread, which measures 20.5mm across the threads. If it is a proper BSP size you should be able to get an adaptor to 3/8" push-fit for beer line, from e.g. The Harmony Hut.
