Black IPA?

I just got my first full sack of pale malt and fancy brewing something out of the normal. has anyone got a recipe for a black IPA? I wouldn't mind something around 3.7%.

I would just make an IPA as you would normally and add some cold extract from carafa special 3 to the end of the boil (last 5 or so, last 15 if you are feeling paranoid). If you are steeping hops at 80c plus for 20/30 mins you could add the cold extract then as that sort of time at 80c should kill most bacteria.
