When I've completed building the new brewery(hopefully this weekend), I'm wanting to brew an American influenced heavily hopped Red coloured beer.
So far I've come up with the following;
Ingredients
Amt Name Type # %/IBU
8.50 kg Pale Malt (2 Row) UK (5.9 EBC) Grain 1 86.6 %
0.50 kg Carared (39.4 EBC) Grain 2 5.1 %
0.50 kg Wheat, Torrified (3.3 EBC) Grain 3 5.1 %
0.30 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt -120L (236.4 EBC) Grain 4 3.1 %
0.02 kg Black (Patent) Malt (985.0 EBC) Grain 5 0.2 %
39.00 g Galena [12.50 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 6 27.8 IBUs
25.00 g Simcoe [14.20 %] - Boil 30.0 min Hop 7 17.1 IBUs
25.00 g Amarillo [10.00 %] - Boil 5.0 min Hop 8 2.8 IBUs
25.00 g Simcoe [14.20 %] - Boil 5.0 min Hop 9 4.0 IBUs
75.00 g Amarillo [10.00 %] - Aroma Steep 30.0 min Hop 10 0.0 IBUs
50.00 g Simcoe [14.20 %] - Aroma Steep 30.0 min Hop 11 0.0 IBUs
Batch Size (fermenter): 38.00 l Brewer:
Boil Time: 60 min
Estimated Brewhouse Efficiency: 75.00 %
Est Original Gravity: 1.058 SG
Est Final Gravity: 1.012 SG
Estimated Alcohol by Vol: 6.0 %
Bitterness: 51.7 IBUs
Est Color: 20.9 EBC
Mash temp 65 deg C
I figured to get the hoppiness up I'd use another 100g pack of hops either as a dry hop or as further aroma hops(I'm quite happy to chop and change the current hop quantities if mixing in a 3rd type to the recipe).
The hops I have in stock are(i'm also willing to order more varieties if needed);
Amarillo 300g
Apollo 200g
Columbus 200g
Cascade 100g
Chinook 200g
Citra 200g
EKG 100g
Green Bullet 100g
Hallertauer 100g
Simcoe 200g
Willamette100g
Can anyone suggest any amendments to the hop schedule?

Do a first wort hop with 20 or so grams of amarillo.
I'm just here for the beer.
