will this work

Post by alfie09 » Sat May 19, 2012 8:03 am

i want to make a pale ale with all cascade but i only have 100 grams and i want as much as i can of them in at the last few minutes. so would adding some magnum hops @ 90mins to 30 ibus work? and just want to know if the flavour will impart any flavour to the finished brew?..... the beer i am replicating uses just cascade.

95% pale crisp malt
5% wheat malt

cascade loads at 10, 5, flameout 80oc steep 1 hour. 30 ibus
nottingham/us-o5 yeast

any problems anyone can see.

Will work very well. Magnum is a very clean bittering hop. No need to steep for as long as an hour - thou could use some for dry hopping.

Yeah +1 to what coatesg says. Ive used Magnum as a bittering hop in a few blonde/ apa's. Had some good results so far.

Should be a nice beer.

Cheers
