Frustrated at being unable to find a recipe that you know is here somewhere (after all you only saw it last month)? Well, forum regular PieOPah has the answer.

He's put together this great recipe database that we can all use- not only can you search for existing recipes, you can also add your own. Click on the link below to access the database.

edit: (sorry folks, the database is no more, DaaB)

If you have any comments, improvements or find any bugs, please let me know and I will try my best to sort it out (given the time...)

Also, if you feel there is anything you can add, again let me know as all help is appreciated.

One thing, all the recipes do have their own dynamic URL so if you search and find a recipe, you should be able to link directly to it in the forum. I will try and find the time to add this link to the actual recipe. I also plan on having a link pasted at the bottom of a new recipe when it is added - just need to find a way to do this (have an idea how, just haven't had the time to test my theory!)

Looks interesting PoP. First comment - can you make the page less wide - currently I have to scroll to the right to see everything - make it hard to use scrolling back and forth. My screen is 1024x768 so not exactly small :? - I usually try to make sure any web pages I put together look ok on 640x480 although I admit that is not always possible but 800x600 should be possible.

Resizing it will be quite easy. Saying that, the current stats for screen rez are

44 52.38% 1024x768
23 27.38% 1280x1024
6 7.14% 1152x864
5 5.95% Unknown
5 5.95% 800x600
1 1.19% 1600x1200

I have struggled on how to size it since it uses layers meaning that it doesn't auto fit to the screen. If viewed at a higher rez then there is a lot of white space.

As visitors increase, I will be able to get a better feel for the browser size. I can then build into it a variety of sizes so you can choose which version to view in. I think that will probably be the better solution.....

I did mean to make it smaller (was designed at work where I have a higher rez and never thought of the consequences).

I'll take a look at it when I get home.

Thanks and well done PoP 8) Looks good on my mac wide screen :P

I hope people are not too modest to build it up with their own recipes. I've recently made the following and all were excellent

DRB's Bramling Beauty
Guild Of Evil's Quaffer
Vossy's Styrian Stunner and Premium Pale
Tribs Amarillo IPA

Firefox 1.5.0.11 doesn't like it that much. Works fine in IE though :(

It looks great PoP and will be a great resource once we all fill it in with our past recipes. 8)

The problems with Firefox should now have been fixed. Basically I have moved a couple of the buttons. FF seemed to be fussy about location for some reason!

Only that it still doesn't fit on my screen without annoying scrolling - did you change the width at all?? :(

PoP just check all the recipes on my Mac 10.4.9 running firefox and safari. All sit in the middle of the screen well.
I also checked on XP running IE7, and it works a treat.

Fine work there, as some one about to embark on the journey of AG this will be a great resource.

As you said there is no excuse for people not to post

For checking what your site looks like in different browsers and operating systems try out http://browsershots.org/. You just put in the URL and check back in a few hours time to see screenshots

This isn't something I Have gotten round to yet. I should hopefully be able to work on this in the next couple of days. I thought that the best method would be to have 2 or 3 different resolutions to work with and allow the user to choose....

The page has now been resized and uploaded. Everything should be fully working - I haven't come across any problems!

Please let me know if everything is okay :)

PoP: this is a great idea and very nice looking. It will be a great resource for all of us.

One request...is there any way you could include a feature that allows one to view ALL the recipe titles at once? On the previous version, you could search recipes and click on "Any" for the style. I don't think that's possible anymore.

Regardless, it is great. Thanks.
