when building the mango barrel boiler i read about how the seams could go and thought that mounting the elements a few inches higher might be a good idea..
so my elements are about 4 inches off the bottom
the side effect of this is a dead space or cold spot directly opposite the elements and until a rolling boil is reached which moves the liquid all about this spot stays cold unless a bit of stirring is employed.
its quite mad when almost at the boil the barrel sides are hot to the touch, reach round to the cold spot and its like ice.. a few seconds later when the boil is reached the cold spot disappears!
each brewkit has its own special features
