Brew uk extract recipe kits

Post by sbond10 » Tue May 29, 2012 7:57 pm

I was looking around for dried malt extract to see if I could get it any cheaper than 7 quid a kilo. And I came across brew uk and they had recipes with pre made dried malt extract and all the other bits to make. An extract kit brew is it worth it to buy these kits or just go and buy bulk so I have more in for next time. It's the hops that worry me the most I don't want them sitting there for weeks/months till I make my next brew.
I've also decided to build a homebrew boiler via the instructables website so expect a new post everyday when I start

I've got tonnes of hops knocking around. Most are vac packed though, the trick is to plan your brews around the hops you have open. If you can get them cheap, it's no real financial disaster.

Very tempting those kits - I don't brew *that* often, or have much storage soace for buying things in bulk so the possibility of just having all the ingredients arrive, pre-weighed out is rather appealing, if lazy! And probably not as good value for money.

hi, extract kits are rather expensive, even the all grain kits from BrewUK are expensive too. i find WoresterHops do all grain kits on avg for 9.99 - 10.99 plus postage.
see if they will do a extract kit???
Ive brought the last 4 bber kits from there and the cheapness is not a problem its still quality stuff. :D
