Day off tomorrow so it's a brew day. May be the last for a while as the weather is warming up.
So I am brewing DL's Adnams Southwold Bitter and was wondering if anyone on the forum had made it?
Recipe is on P.76 of BBLTYB.
Brew Day 23 Apr '07
Hi Daab,
Thanks for the picture but I can't get the plastic nut that hold the element in undone. When I first used it it did leak a bit round the element so I tightened it and suspect that a bit of lime scale has seized it up. Might treat myself to a Leyland homebrew boiler sometime. Getting near sparge time so must go and get prepared.

Western, fyi i had to pull like a madman to get that thing off. The plastic bit is held in by the two collets around the pins that connect the element. You might be able to tease them out with needle nose pliers.
I thought i'd wrecked mine, but when i put it back together and tested it, it all worked fine.
