How to ad yeast

Post by troublebrewing » Mon Apr 23, 2007 7:39 pm

I'm browsing the various threads, and have read about someone 're-hydrating' their yeast before putting it into their kit.

Up to now, I have been opening the sachet (Safale 04) and sprinkling it on top of the 'wort'.

Have I been making a collossal mistake? And did I spell collossal wrong?

no thats fine, most of us make up a starter first , have a look at jims brewing techniques and hints and tips and you will see what I mean. It just gets the yeast off to a good start . what youre doing is okay though dont worry
