Pale malt only recipe to christen mashtun

Post by DC » Wed Jun 27, 2012 7:25 am

Hi all, I have recently completed my shiny 70L mashtun conversion and I am looking for a Pale Malt only recipe to christen it, my local brewery where I purchase my malt etc doesnt stock a great range of malts. So I have decided to buy a 25kg sack of pale malt and various hops (recipe dependant) and make a simple pale malt only brew and source speciality grains elsewhere. So come on guys can anyone suggest a pale malt only recipe (10 gallon) to christen the new mashtun :?:

PS ! I dont want anything too bitter as some IPA's ive tried are too bitter for my taste :(

Cheers DC

Hi Goulders, thanks for the recipe ! Now for a stupid question if I want to double this recipe and make 46 litres is it a case of doubling up the malt & hops ? Obviously it's double malt but ! But not sure if it's also double the qty of hops at the same stages of the boil ? Just need clarification before emailing order off to the brewery for collection hopefully this Friday !

Bit of a late reply I guess but yes you should double everything up including the hops when scaling your recipe to 46 litres.
