Tucked up to keep it warm.

Nice one WB. This is the Adnams recipe I presume.
I brewed this towards the end of last year and put it into bottle - there's just a few left. I was a bit disappointed with the outcome (OK but not brilliant) but it was before I'd found this forum and some of my techniques/technical capabilities have improved as a result.
I found the balance between bitterness and malt skewed too far in favour of bitterness but, as I say, that is probably down to my technique at the time - I'm sure I won't have achieved very high extraction.
When you finally get to taste it I'll be interested to know what you think. Have you altered the recipe at all?

Last few pictures.

Usual dodgy cooling set up.

Aerated wort.

Re-hydrated yeast ready for pitching.

I did reduce the copper hops alittle as according to Beertools the bitterness was way over the top for the style of beer. But at the end of the day it's all down to personal taste. I do find a lot of home brewed beer very bitter for my palate. Not often had this with commercial/microbrewery beers.

It did. Don't know what went wrong last time. I always clean the element with a scrubby before and after using the boiler.

I must squeeze that cat.
What sort of gravity did it add to the wort?
