Is four pints a night the same as a 'mild drinking problem'? !!! For how many of us?!
In my opinion if somebody drinks 4 pints per night, every night then they rely too much on alchohol. That is just my opinion though and not necessarily correct.

Fourteen would be excessive then.

I'd say that's plenty old enough for four pints a night

Well, it certainly is if you're into making barley wines.

I reckon loads of pints EVERY night can't be great, I mean sometimes it's necessary to drive, operate machinery, play with children, talk to people about things and stuff and that etc...

Also, if I get drunk I feel the urge to get the hydrometer out for no reason at all.

Why would there be any need to talk to people - you have the Internet afterall! As for children...

I think having loads of beer around is quite a temptation, and at prices that are this competitive, it's not too surprising to gulp down heaps of it.

I think the thing is to have some nights (or days if that's your thing) off from it.

I've currently got four kegs full of beer, two of which are in service and ready to drink. I've got a carboy full of Belgian style tripel (5 gallons) which is around the 10% ABV mark, 10 gallons of 80/- fermenting, and a couple of gallons of turbo cider fermenting. Ingredients on the way for 10 gallons of helles lager and 10 of hefeweizen. Should see me through to the end of May then i'll have to get started on my summer beers! :D

so youve got
4 kegs (say 40 pinters) that 160 pints,
carboy 40 pints,
80/- is 80 pints,
turbo - 16 pints,
helles lager - 80 pints
hefeweizen - 80 pints

so in total you have 456 pints (or there abouts) to last you till end of may, say 5 weeks, thats 91 pints per week, or 13 pints a night.

lightweight.

One pint every 20 mins... a bit under four and a half hours, so i would aim to be in bed by 10pm with that lot under my belt, so start at half five or so.

Good luck! 8)
