Another update dellboy
Well i think that some of the elements of the experiment went well.
The marmite starter got too 1016 fg and there was definately a taste of marmite in the finished liquid that wasnt too unpleasant but def wouldnt be wanted in a light ale, the jury is def out on whether it would be pleasant in a dark ale too......
The starter with boiled yeast also performed well and got down to 1016.
The starter with yeast nutrient, tasted foul and i think must have had a baterial infection at some stage. It was really nasty. The FG was 1024..
I think that I may invest in some apperatus and try this experiment again as i am not sure of the accuracy of some of the stages. I had difficulties making the fg readings as i didnt have beaker thin enough for the hydrometer so cant rely totally on the final g readings.
Ill keep you informed if I attempt this again.
