OH THE AROMA!!!.......
OH THE AROMA!!!.......
I put a coopers Aussie Bitter on a couple of weeks ago. Made it up with the usual 1kg BKE & 500g sugar. But added an Apollo hop tea (30g boiled for 20mins then steeped for 30 mins). Day two of fermentation saw a huge krausen so I dropped in another 20g of Apollo to dry hop. 2 weeks later I've popped the lid to have a sniff and OMG!! Its amazing! It's the longest I've ever dry hopped for and the floral citrus aroma is something special!! I really cannot wait to get this in a pint glass!

I think that Apollo is a bit of a hidden gem, they smell awesome in the packet and even better in the brew!
I've still got 90g in the freezer, it will be interesting to hear how your AB turns out
Have you got the 19.8% AA one's?

Re: OH THE AROMA!!!.......
I cant remember the AA (will check when I get home) but I think it's about 19%. I cant wait any longer so it'll be going in the keg tonight.

Re: OH THE AROMA!!!.......
This ended up in the keg on fri 22nd June (4 weeks ago). There were some keg sealing issues but the pressurised keg has been conditioning for 3 weeks (albeit not particularly cold as the garage is about 16 degrees) and while it's still cloudy it tastes bloody amazing! Better than any commercial beer I've ever tasted and better than any kit I've done before! If anyone's passing they're welcome to pop in for a sniffter.

Re: OH THE AROMA!!!.......
Oh, I should add that this is pint number 2 from the keg. How's that for will power?!?

Re: OH THE AROMA!!!.......
Aroma's still there! The only problem is that the my kegs are in the garage so naturally, my beer has settled out at room temperature which is a cool 18-20º at the moment!
I'm tempted to utilise the fridge in the garage to help bring the temperature down a bit.
