Hello everyone!
The recent discussion about Stone Arrogant Bastard (which supposedly is a single malt, single hop recipe) got me thinking. If you were forced to choose only one type of malt and one hops cultivar to brew the very best beer possible, which would you use? Feel free to "think outside the box." Describe your beer, your process, your yeast selection, etc. What did you name it?
I can't wait to read everyone's imaginative responses.
Ready...steady...GO!
HYPOTHETICAL 1 MALT + 1 HOP BEER RECIPE?
Re: HYPOTHETICAL 1 MALT + 1 HOP BEER RECIPE?
Hmmm... be imaginitive you say. Let's see....
How about.....
Maris Otter Pale + EKG
Brewed to about 4.5%
IBU maybe 30 ish
The process... um, soak the grain in some hot water then boil with some hops. If I wanted to be fancy I'd maybe keep some hops back for the end of the boil.
I'd call it.... My Bitter.
Of course, to make it perfect you'd have to let me add a bit of crystal and some Fuggles...
I fear I may not have illuminated your brewing world.
