It's great that you are doing customer research where the customers actually are, that's brilliant. I'm not sure if the Light DME is standard across all 1,2 and 3M shop displays but it should be. It would be really nice to see a Mead kit like the one CWE (rip) used to have in the Boots days. That was just a can but had great results in my experiences. I'm interested to know how your 6.8KG wine kits compare to the California Connoisseur kits. The California Connoisseur kits contain slightly more juice (7.5L) and only £2 more but I have to order them so I might try yours for a comparison. Any chance of knowing what strain your Wilko Gervin Univeral Wine Yeast is? The Harris Crystilbrite filter pads you sell are quite pricey, even with postal cost it's cheaper elsewhere. I suppose the only other great step apart from previously mentioned malts/Grains would be Hops but given the storage conditions I suspect the closest you could get to them would probably be Hop aroma oils, any chance of seeing that on your shelves?
Cheers!
HI Flatulent cow
Hope this answers a couple of your questions.
1. The 6.8kg Premium Cellar wine kit has been formulated using varietal specific grapes and will compare very favourably with other wine kits of a similar size.
2. The wine strain used in the Gervin universal wine yeast is EC1118.
Cheers

Hi Steve,
I am quite fortunate to work in a Wilkos that has the 3m later. Since the new Kitchen relaunch, lots of customers have commented on how comprehensive the range is compared to what it was. One of the biggest things I get asked is, 'Do you stock the plastic PET bottles" I know we can't accomodate all customer request and that layout space is at a premium, but would this be a viable online option, as I feel we would sell more of these than the glass bottles we currently do.

We launched the Wilko own brand range this summer with great reviews from the independent taste testing we did prior to launch. Now that the range has been out there for over a month I would like to get some feedback from the experts on what is good, bad, ok, missing etc from the range we have in store and online. Also, what do you think of the leaflets. So please feel free to reply below with any comments you have. If there is something you don't like then please follow it up with what you would like us to do/change to improve our offer. As well as the new Wilko own brand, we still have a range of branded products, so any feedback on those too would be great.
Cheers, Steve
Steve, a lot here use 'Five Star Star San' sanitiser, mostly via internet orders, with your buying power, would you consider stocking this product?

I hear the citrus is a viable alternative to Styrian Goldings late in the boil!

Star San would definitely be the best thing to add to your stock!

It does get knocked quite a bit but I've been using Chemipro Oxi exclusively for a couple of years now without an infection. and it does the most amazing job of cleaning Cornies. That said I would like easy access to Starsan. I think that the two together would cover all bases.

My local Wilkinsons in Walton on Thames, has now gone from virtually no homebrew supplies, to having a whole display. I suspect it's the 2m, mid range loyout - but a most welcome addition on the home brew supply desert that is Surrey.
Popped in yesterday and got myself a Coopers lager, but next time I maybe tempted to try the Wilko's Velvet Stout
I would add my support for PET bottles, and why not a basic range of hop pellets, just 2 or 3 varirities would be fantastic
Keep up the good work.

Hi Danny,
It is on the list of things we are looking at. It will probably be an online thing first.
