Has the torrents of rain affected your Alkalinity?

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Has the torrents of rain affected your Alkalinity?

Post by simple one » Sat Sep 29, 2012 9:38 pm

My Alkalinity usually is 22 - 25 ppm CaCO3... today it measured in at a whopping 7, and that's being generous.
Didn't believe it so measured twice.

Anyone else had theirs drop? Is this due to the rain, or is there something else at play?

Definitely. Mine is third of what it was last year.
