Star San and Hard Water

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Star San and Hard Water

I used Star San for the first time at the weekend before reading that it shouldn't be used with hard water #-o

I just hope my London Pride clone is not infected.

Instead of buying bottled water could I just treat my tap water with CRS and then add the Star San?

I'm not sure if treating your water with CRS would work, it might.

I just buy the 5 litre bottles of Tesco Ashbeck water, which only cost £1.00. Remember once mixed up you can reuse it so it lasts for ages. The empty bottles make handy fermenters for wine as well.

Thanks chaps.

I may as well go down the bottled water route as it is so cheap :)
